Health Care

Health CareHealth Care is often non-existent in parts of Cambodia and along the Myanmar (Burma) border and if it is available many people cannot afford the costs. People travel miles to overcrowded hospitals and clinics where often the hospital has poor under serviced facilities and a lack of medicine. Many lose their children to simple avoidable health issues because they cannot afford the medicine or treatment that is needed.

K.I.D.S. assists several clinics and children’s hospitals in Cambodia, Myanmar and on the Thailand/Myanmar border. In Cambodia K.I.D.S. supports both the Angkor Children’s Hospital and The Lake Clinic, both these NGO’s work tirelessly to provide care for thousands of children and families that cannot afford health care. In Myanmar and on the Thailand/Myanmar border we have supported the Mae Tao Clinic and we have also provided support for a small clinic in the far north of Myanmar. K.I.D.S. has supported these clinics and hospitals by providing medicine, transportation costs, infrastructure and purchasing equipment such as: beds, operating tables, engines, x-ray machines and other needed equipment. K.I.D.S. has also supported the training of Health Care Volunteers who work in isolated areas. Training and prevention are key to improving the health of a community.
