Health Care

Health Care is often non-existent in parts of Cambodia and if it is available many people cannot afford the costs. People travel miles to overcrowded hospitals and clinics where often the hospital has poor under serviced facilities and a lack of medicine. Many lose their children to simple avoidable health issues because they cannot afford the medicine or treatment that is needed.

K.I.D.S. assists clinics and children’s hospitals. In Cambodia K.I.D.S. supports the Angkor Hospital for Children, The Lake Clinic Cambodia and other small clinics in isolated areas. These organizations work tirelessly to provide care for thousands of children and families that cannot afford health care. K.I.D.S. has supported these clinics and hospitals by providing: medicine, doctor and midwife/nurse salaries, transportation costs, infrastructure, purchasing equipment as well as building and renovating clinics and hospitals. K.I.D.S. has also supported the training of Health Care Volunteers who work in isolated areas. Training, medical attention and prevention is key to improving the health and well-being of a community.
