Stung Treng Women's Weaving Training Program
For the past eleven years, KIDS has supported this innovative and life-changing program for women and children. Women who have faced very dangerous and difficult circumstances come here to learn the age-old tradition of weaving silk products. The women receive a decent living wage, emotional support, free health care and maternity leave. K.I.D.S provides their children with a progressive early childhood education program, hot lunches and a hygiene program. While the women work together their children are only steps away attending K.I.D.S preschool/kindergarten. K.I.D.S recently started a computer-training program at SWDC for students and women to improve their future opportunities for education and employment.
